My July 4th was quite uneventful. The only thing I did today was go to the Hickory Crawdads baseball game. 4th of July games at L.P. Frans Stadium are always a huge event. Almost 5000 fans turned out for Wednesday night’s game against the Augusta GreenJackets. Since the Hickory Crawdads game is the only source in Hickory for fireworks on this day, it’s usually a huge draw in the community. I don’t know how many people are really baseball fans, but the people turn out in force. The fireworks show after the game was excellent. I actually thought about taking my tripod to the game and making some more fireworks photos, but I knew the crowd would be quite thick. We are having fireworks again on Saturday, so I’ll pack up my tripod and do that this weekend. It’s always fun to shoot fireworks.
