Greater Hickory Classic Week
It's that time of year again... Another full week of golf and fun at Rock Barn... The opening day of this year's Greater Hickory Classic was filled with some qualifying rounds as well as the Greater Hickory High School Classic where local prep golfers gathered to play the back nine on the Jackson course. Instead of chasing golfers around the course today, I took the lazy route and spent the entire afternoon at the 16th green. There are some lovely shade trees around the edges which didn't do me enough good to keep a little late summer sunburn away. I'm probably gonna be at the Barn every day this week, which isn't so bad. The GHC staff do an excellent job of taking care of the media. The staff is incredible.
Tomorrow, we'll be covering the Dale Jarrett Shootout. This is a celebrity / amateur 5-hole shootout which will be played on holes 1, 2, and 16-18 on the Jones course.
Maybe this sinus cold that I have been dealing with for the last few days will take it's ugly butt somewhere else soon :)
